The Role

This role will work in tandem with the firm founders to assist in the management of investments in early stage venture opportunities using traditional private placement equity with a focus on non-dilutive revenue-based funding investment instruments (“RBF”). This role will be involved in sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, execution, value-add of ventures, particularly RBF candidates, that are found within the US and internationally. The Principal will also be responsible for administration and coordinating with banking institutions for RBF investments. The Principal will work closely with the senior management team and supporting intelligence team in identifying and executing on investments in target companies that meet within the firm’s investment mandate.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing established networks to source investment opportunities that fit within the fund mandate for RBF and equity investments.

  • Screening processes to vet deals through strategic, financial and investment value considerations; including venture capital and venture debt analysis.

  • Perform venture due diligence utilizing unique Falkon Ventures’ due diligence practices (e.g. Falkon Method, Value Network Analysis, etc).

  • Performs in-depth company and market assessments and due diligence that would cover a review of the target company’s management team, company financials, proposal’s market potential, company governance and structure, etc.

  • Manage the integration and execution of RBF including with the trustee, accounting, banking partners, and target company.

  • Assisting in developing, and optimizing, strategy to source RBF investment opportunities.

  • Manage and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures to conduct revenue-based funding investments.

  • Conducts extensive research and provide regular reports on new potential opportunities providing recommendations to the Managing Director and investment team.

  • Builds comprehensive financial models for individual start-ups as well as venture capital and RBF portfolio.

  • Provides assistance to operations that support portfolio companies.

 

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree, graduate degree – MBA ideal

  • Prior venture, investment experience and debt financing ideal

  • Backgournd in credit financing and end-to-end credit process a plus

  • Ability to learn quickly and think outside the box

  • Extensive financial and management vocabulary.

  • Strong analytical background. Credit Risk Analysis background is a plus

  • Team first attitude and a commitment to work in a highly collaborative environment

  • Possess critical thinking skills and keen focus on details

  • High level of proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to be motivated and work effectively in both structured and unstructured environments

  • Proactive to take initiative

  • Must be ethical and honest, possess high integrity and be trustworthy.
